Lemonfair Honeyworks is located in Cornwall, Vermont, and takes its name from the Lemon Fair river which flows in the valley behind our honey house. We produce raw honey, comb honey, nucleus colonies and queens from bees that have not been treated with miticides, antibiotics or other medications. We have heard different explanations for the origin of the name Lemon Fair, which is a puzzling name since no lemon trees grow for a thousand miles. The theory we like the best is that the name is anglicized version of the French ‘Le Mont Faire’ since we are indeed surrounded by beautiful mountains. The Adirondacks rise across lake Champlain to the West, and the Green Mountains sit just a couple miles to the East of some of our yards.
